We Are NRG has come and gone; what an amazing weekend it was filled with so much love! This was my first time ever attending We Are NRG, so I was super stoked to be able to this year, especially as the lineup was nothing short of AMAZING! JOYRYDE, KSHMR, Fedde Le Grand, Headhunterz, and Adventure Club…need I say more?!
I have been raving for many years now, attending many different festivals and events Insomniac has put on since 2012, so to be able to experience one of their smaller shows was going to be such an experience for me! We Are NRG had two stages; a huge stage inside the Damus Building and then a smaller one outside. Personally, I loved the outdoor stage, the visuals and design of the stage looked really dope! The indoor stage was seriously beautiful as well, though. From the stage design to the visuals, you can really tell how much hard work was put into making it come to life!! A big thank you to Insomniac for always outdoing themselves with stage production!
I was especially looking forward to finally seeing Adventure Club! I had plans to see them back at Escape All Hallows Eve in 2014, but if you remember that was the year that Bassrush was super overcrowded and they had to stop letting people inside the Damus building. So needless to say, I never saw them that night and was hoping for another chance to see them since! I was so hyped up to see them play a sick dubstep set. Their ULTRA set this past year was super fire, so I was expecting a heavy dub set. Another favorite of mine had to be JOYRYDE! His set was super bomb; I could not stop dancing the entire time! He even played a little drum & bass, which has grown to be one of my favorite genres! We can’t forget Fedde Le Grand, KSHMR, and Headhunterz. I may love bass music, but my love for house music will never fade, EVER! I was so thrilled to hear Fedde drop his club remix of Rhythm Of The Night, a favorite everyone loves! It’s one of those classics that never gets old!
I love discovering artists that are new to me and at We Are NRG I discovered a few artists that I fell in love with by the end of the event. Those two artists were Trippy Turtle and YDG, both very different from one another. I was at the outdoor stage quite a bit on Day 2, that was where I saw YDG. He gets down!! I would highly recommend checking him out on SoundCloud. Trippy Turtle was definitely trippy to say the least, his sound is super unique which is why I loved him so much!
Thank you so much Insomniac for putting on such an amazing show, cannot wait to come back to We Are NRG next year!
