This year, Veld returns to Downsview Park in Toronto, Ontario August 1st and 2nd. The date is almost here and I for one, couldn’t be anymore excited than I already am.
Veld is quickly turning into one of the biggest festivals in Canada and North America. Established in 2012, Veld attracts visitors from all over the region thanks to their consistent bookings of the biggest names in electronic dance music. This year’s festival will feature Deadmau5, Kaskade, Hardwell, and Above & Beyond (my fav) as major headliners. The secondary Bacardi stage will feature A$AP Rocky, Borgore, Duke Dumont, and Hot Since 82 as their main draw.
To push the anticipation to a maximum level the good people behind The Veld have released the official after movie for last years festival. Beautiful people dancing to beautiful music in a beautiful location is all that is needed to sum this one up. Take a look at the video below and check out the official website for ticket details.
As Swedish House, Steve Angello states in the video above, “Toronto needed a music festival”. With the closure of “The Guvernment”, many Torontonians have had a bit of a trouble finding the perfect event. With Digital Dreams, Veld, Electric Island, etc… the scene here is quickly growing.
The festival has released an updated info section containing the list of items that are not allowed to be brought in, read the full list before you pack! Although there are a lot of similarities to other festivals; Veld does NOT allow the use of “selfie” sticks / GoPros, or Bead Masks (Really guys?). Info Here
One thing that is forsure, it will be a huge event that will draw thousands of people. It will be an amazing event, followed up with multiple afterparties at soon-to-be announced locations.
“If everyone attending Veld this year held hands and made a line stretching across the highway, it would go from Downsview Park to Niagara Falls” (142km, or 88 miles for you Americans!)
See you there!
