Sun Soaked with Kaskade

Ever since Electric Daisy Carnival, I’ve been wanting to go on a vacation and relax instead of raging. Work has been slow since we only have summer school hours (perks of working at an elementary school), my graduate program just started back up for the summer quarter, and I was craving an adventure. When I first heard rumors that Kaskade was interested in organizing a special beach show in Long Beach, California for the West Coast massive I knew I already had a destination. Who could resist chilling on the beach, getting sun soaked, and listening to Kaskade?!

If you guys didn’t know by now, whenever Kaskade throws his own show they almost instantly sell out, so this wasn’t any different. I was one of the lucky ones to snag tickets during presales (which sold out in under 5 minutes!), but when I went to try to buy a friend a ticket during the general admission sale, they were instantly sold out! With 3 other events happening at the beach, my boyfriend and I booked an AirBnB walking distance from the venue so that we wouldn’t have to worry about parking and arrived at the venue at 3 PM to avoid waiting in line to get in.

Once my friends and I took some fun pictures with the stand-up boards and set up our blankets on the sand, a few ventured off to brave the long lines of the alcohol and merchandise booths. Unfortunately, for those who went to the alcohol station waited AT LEAST an hour or even those who were trying to enter the event were stuck waiting in line for almost up to 2 hours. The line to get into the event was so bad that even security stopped checking bags and let everyone start walking through. I’m thankful that I got there early, but hopefully Kaskade will make some changes if he wants Sun Soaked to return next year.

With some of the ladies of iHeartRaves <3

Opening up for Kaskade were Bynon, Ravell b2b Lipless, SNBRN, and GRYFFIN, each bringing the heat while we relaxed and danced on the beach. And of course, Kaskade brought out the feels when he opened up with Myon’s remix of his collaboration with Late Night Alumni’s  ‘Love Song’ and his own single ‘Atmosphere’ and brought out the amazing house vibes for the west coast massive! I had a blast reuniting with my SoCal rave family, meeting new friends, and vibing to Kaskade with all of the beautiful people around me <3

Thank you to Kaskade and SoCal for the warm welcome! Hope to be back next year!
