“After completing his packed out and trapped out Max Capacity Tour, Party Thieves is back on the road again, but this time for his headlining Grand Theft Army World Tour. He is accompanied by special guests Mayhem and Ricky Remedy, as well as some shows alongside bass legend Excision.”
Jared McFarlin, aka Party Thieves, is back on tour and ready to show the world what he’s made of. Here is an exclusive interview with iHeartRaves:
Q: When did you first start producing and mixing?
A: I started producing and mixing after I attended my first festival in 2013 which so happened to be Electric Daisy Carnival NYC. RIP.
Q: What is the inspiration behind your music and tell me about the processes it took to produce “Farewell”?
A: I make music for myself. It is a way for me to express how I am feeling. ‘Farewell’ is one of my favorite records. ‘Farewell’ started after a show I had in Dallas a year ago. I played it out for my first time and it went off. I sat on the record for a little while and continued to play it out in my sets and my fans took it to social media which is when I knew I had to release it.
Q: What is your favorite aspect about touring and your current Grand Theft Army Tour?
A: I love meeting my fans. They are the reason I am where I am today. My set is always high energy, no time to ever slowdown. I want my fans leaving my shows wanting more. The Grand Theft Army Tour is a huge accomplishment for myself and my team. To be able to hit 4+ continents over the span of 3 months is incredible.
Q: What do you love about the EDM community? From the culture to the fashion, what are your impressions?
A: The EDM Community is filled with such a diverse group of people. Its a community where everyone can come together, leave their stress behind, and vibe with one another. From the music to the fashion to the overall energy, it is unlike anything I have ever seen or been a part of.
Q: How did you come up with your name?
A: I was messing around one day with names and really liked Grandtheft but then realized that Grandtheft was already a producer. Then I was messing around with Party and Thieves and boom, the rest is history.
Q: One of your favorite shows you’ve played and why?
A: Being able to go back and play EDC NY 3 years later in front of 5000 people was pretty insane. The energy from the Bassrush tent was insane and I will never forget that moment. Hard work truly does pay off.
Q: What are your goals as artists from where you are now?
A: 2016 was a big year for me. I released my first EP off Flosstradamus’ label, Hi Def Youth, announced a residency in Australia, released a few singles, and really strengthened the Party Thieves brand. Moving into 2017 my goals are to play more festivals, release all this new music, and continue to expand into new markets. The new music I am sitting on is what I like to call Party Thieves 2.0.
Q: Any tips for aspiring producers/artists?
A: This is what I tell everyone because my story is much different than other producers/artists. Just keep at it. Continue to grow, learn, and evolve in all aspects of life.
