It seems like festival season is still going strong with many incredible events such as TomorrowWorld and Imagine Festival coming up this fall, but the one festival that seems to be the talk of the town right now is Nocturnal Wonderland! It may seem like just another festival, but it’s also Nocturnal’s 20th Anniversary celebration meaning you won’t want to miss out on what Insomniac has planned for its headliners! I haven’t been to Nocturnal since it was at the NOS Events Center in 2012 and thought that was amazing, but with the venue change and the rapid evolution of rave culture what will be different this year? From what has been released so far, this is what we can expect to see at this year’s special occasion!
New Camping Options
For all of you high maintenance folks out there who don’t want to worry about driving in traffic and want to get the full Nocturnal experience, have no fear! Insomniac has upgraded its camping options and has opened up glamping with the Owl’s Nest; now you’ll be able to sleep in comfort and style! For those who don’t have cash to throw around and don’t have any camping supplies there’s the option of purchasing Nocturnal’s 20th Anniversary tent which comes with all of your camping essentials; hell, you can even take most of it home! It’s an awesome deal, but get your wallets ready, it’s not going to be cheap!
Based from the other camping festivals at the San Bernardino, it’s no surprise that most of the activities will be the same. There hasn’t been an announcement yet, but my guess would be tie dye t-shirt making, vision boards, dream catchers, and of course kandi making! Two definite activities that Nocturnal promises are the silent discos (you don’t want to miss out on this cool experience!) and the waterpark! I’m pretty stoked to be hitting up at waterpark, it’s going to be a long hot day to spend inside of a tent!
Hopefully an equally amazing and improved mainstage
To be honest, I’m a little tired of how repetitive the stage designs are. Sure you can use the same character, but I loved how at EDC the stages at least changed design themes each year (cartoon-like owl stage for 2013, a cathedral owl for 2014, and a crystal village owl for 2015). But at Beyond Wonderland for NorCal AND SoCal that same damn caterpillar has still been the mascot with the same damn design. Please Pasquale, for the love of god, make this year’s main stage look EPIC for Nocturnal’s anniversary!!! (I’m sure he will)
Nocturnal’s 20th Anniversary Tents
Pasquale posted a picture of the festival map on Instagram and revealed that there were going to be special tents dedicated to Nocturnal’s anniversary! No details on what this special treat may be, but I’m excited to see what’s in store for us! Hopefully they have some amazing merchandise that I can take home for a souvenir 😛
And lastly, something NOT released from Pasquale…we’re expecting to see YOU, the HEADLINERS, dressed for the occasion!
So please don’t be boring: have fun, dress up, and spread the PLUR! If you’re not dressing up, just put on your beautiful smile and have the time of your life! I can’t wait to meet you all on this very special Labor Day weekend to trade kandi with, dance, and make new memories with 🙂 Keep it PLUR! <3
