Earlier today, Huffington Post released their list of the “10 Under-the-Radar Music Festivals in North America,” and guess who made top of that list! Boogaloo Music and Art Car Festival!
Boogaloo started as a small family gathering in Lake Elsinore on top of a mountain for a birthday party for one of the founding members of the Dirty Beetles, a Burning Man camp. It was set up again the following year as a fundraiser to build an art project for Burning Man. Because this was even more of a success, the Dirty Beetles decided to expand and create a multi-stage music festival and camp out at the former home of Lightning in a Bottle, Oak Canyon Park.
But Boogaloo is more than just a music festival. It infuses the love of art and yoga with music in a family style environment. Some huge headliners featured include DJ Dan, Tropkillaz, J Phlip, Christian Martin, Stylust Beats, House of Vibe, and many more! What’s really unique about Boogaloo’s lineup is actually the large amount of female DJs and producers set to perform. This year, Boogaloo’s lineup is featuring 14 amazing women, an exciting change to the once male-dominated DJ industry!
Boogaloo is bringing a vibrant and interactive experience of both music and art, all of which is created by the participants. Visual stimulation, like art cars and collaborative painting installations, will be featured on the grounds of Boogaloo. They even have a Los Angeles based art production group showcasing their amazing art vehicle, Charlie the Unicorn Art Car! Along with these mesmerizing art installations, attendees can relax and unwind in special areas like the Family Love Village and the Sanctuary.
This combination of top notch live music, art cars, live painting, camping, workshops, yoga, local vending, kids zones, and more will create a one of a kind experience for people of all ages, so don’t miss out!
