Bountiful basslines and tantalizing drops will echo throughout the picturesque Rocky Mountains of Golden, BC as the 18th annual Motion Notion Festival takes over this summer, August 24th ⬝ 28th, 2017. Having already unveiled an impressive Phase I lineup, the masterminds behind Motion Notion have dreamt up a visionary Phase II, showcasing the elite of rising talent from Western North America to compliment headliners Datsik, Avalon, Dirtyphonics, Koan Sound, The M Machine and Minnesota alongside a diverse mix of international legends and underground acts — totaling over 100!
LA native born and raised producer/DJ ETC!ETC! has built a reputation as one of the leaders in trap and Moombahton productions. Recently I got a chance to catch up with the hard working Dad and ask him about what his production process, his work on Dim Mak, and his opinion on the age old question of pizza toppings! Check out the interview below and enjoy and an exclusive playlist made to help get all our unicorns ready to headbang at their upcoming show at Avalon Hollywood’s CONTROL presents this Friday night! I’ll be there on behalf of all the hood rat bass heads and Studio 240! Hope you see a few of you there!
Recently I got the chance to catch up with one of my favorite music trio’s Cash Cash ahead of their upcoming appearance for Life In Color San Diego where the producers are sure to bring their signature blend of powerhouse pop ballads and killer drops for some emotional healing and bootie shaking. The trio seems to have taken on the task of building a bridge between pop and dance music fan bases in recent years which isn’t an easy task when dealing with a community of fans that can be dismissive of all things “Pop” music. Never the less Cash Cash have used their popularity and deft production skills to gain a cult following as well as given themselves a platform to help up and coming artists. They were kind enough to make me an exclusive playlist to share as well as answer a couple of questions!
Even though it seems like there’s a never-ending supply of festival’s to attend these days I like to think I keep a pretty eye on what’s going on in the festival scene enough to know most of the major players. When I heard about the boutique festival Motion Notion I couldn’t believe I had never heard of it.
LA events production company DoLaB has released the lineup for their flagship festival: Lightning in a Bottle Arts & Music Festival. The festival is returning to Bradley, CA for their 12th year from May 24th to the 29th. The lineup remains consistent with past years as the festival continues serving up unique and awesome acts filled with a wonderful mix of just enough bass, glitch-hop, live bands; and will now sprinkle in some trance elements with Hedflux and Perfect Stranger as well some D&B grime with Ivy Lab. Headliners include Bassnectar, Bonobo, Richie Hawtin, Kaytranada, Jhené Aiko, Bob Moses, RÜFÜS DU SOL, Paper Diamond, TroyBoi, and Perfect Stranger. LIB is one of the best boutique festival on the West Coast and is one of my absolute favorite festivals.
