5 Acts You Can’t Miss at EDC LV 2015

Each year EDC LV headliners wait with bated breath for the line up and set times to be released. A festival like this one boasts a line up of the world’s top DJs all at one venue. To make the most of it, we make schedules and plan out each minute of our night, but no matter how hard we try to stick to the plans, things come up. Don’t stress too much about time, go with the flow, and enjoy the festival, but be sure you don’t miss these five acts at EDC this year!

This will be the duo’s West Coast debut in North America and if you’re a die hard trance fan, you can’t miss this. Armin and Benno threw down a captivating set at Ultra Miami last year. Unlike other artists, their set will not be filled with your typical festival anthems, instead it will be a purist set full of nothing but trance. It was the duo’s first time playing in America last year and we’re excited to see what they bring to EDC so get ready for a double dose of Armin this year!

Alison Wonderland

For those of you who need something a little harder, Alison Wonderland is your gal. With her gnarly bass drops and sick beats, you would never guess that she got her start in music with a cello. In Australia, she made a name for herself with her unique style mixing house, trap, and bass and is now taking the American party scene by storm. She gained a lot of praise after her set at Coachella, her first American show, and with her secret Wonderland warehouse parties selling out fast, we know we can’t miss this talented producer and singer at EDC.

Another female artist on the rise, TOKiMONSTA or Jennifer Lee, is definitely someone on our must see list. LA Weekly has even ranked her as Los Angeles’s #1 female DJ in 2010. Though it seems many of us are late to the party, whatever, we’re still hardcore crushing on this LA native! Her take on indie electronic, R&B, and dance sets her apart from many artists and as the first female to join Flying Lotus’s crew she’s been making her mark in the music world. With her background in classical and eclectic music tastes, we’re dying to see what she has in store for us at a festival like EDC!

Her song Hideaway has been played on the radio over and over again, but we don’t mind, it’s catchy AF! If you were so lucky to catch her at Coachella, you know her performance will be fire. She’s on our list of must see artists as she’s not the typical performer you’d expect to see at EDC. She won’t be standing behind any decks spinning or mixing like every other performer, she’ll be up there belting out some of her top hits just for you — which is refreshing for a festival like this one. This talented babe has the voice of an angel and amazing stage presence that captivates the crowd. You’ll definitely regret it if you miss her!

This duo has been given a lot of praise lately, we’ve even seen them called the new kings of progressive house! Their hits like Runaway (U & I)  and Gold Dust quickly became crowd favorites. It’s not surprising as both Christian Karlsson and Linus Eklow have successful careers prior to Galantis as Miike Snow (Christian) and Style of Eye (Linus). They have so much talent and chemistry it’s hard not to love this dynamic duo and their productions!

Bonus: Ceremonies/Surprise Guest DJs

This year, Insomniac has some big plans in store for all of their headliners. Kinetic Field will be transformed into Crystal Village complete with a mayor who will be taking hold of the celebration between sets. Rumor has it he will be releasing crystals containing the power of earth, fire, water, and air. Crystal Village will be having opening and closing ceremonies each night and ceremonies celebrating nature such as “Empire of the Sea” and “Dragon’s Realm” between sets. We’re not sure what to expect, but these ceremonies which integrate nature into the technological spectacle are definitely on our list of must-sees.

And while we’re so excited about this killer line up of artists, Insomniac still has more surprises in store. It seems there are special guest DJs on the line up who haven’t been announced yet. You can see their set times on the EDC app, but we can only speculate about which DJs will show up! If you’re up for something new, or you just like surprises, be sure to catch one of these sets! If it’s a surprise, it must be good right? We have money on Dillon Francis being there Sunday 😉
